Flagship cultural monuments are an attraction for visitors from all over the world. The Garden of Heroes, is the place where the camp and the cemetery of the besieged were located and today is the only regional sculpture gallery in Greece, the only historical park related to the Greek Revolution.

The Exodus Gate where the Free Besieged attempted the heroic, shocking EXODUS after successive sieges during those years, famine and hardship, the earthen fence where the highest struggle for Freedom was given, the tomb where have been buried bones of fighters, statues and busts of fighters and philhellenes, such as Markos Botsaris, Kyriakos Mavromichalis, Lord Byron, Ellinopoula, the Daughter of Greece, the sculpture of the French sculptor David d 'Angers, and many tributes to the Philhellenes of the world: French, Swiss, Italians, Russians , Poles, etc., are just some of the evidence of the historical cultural value and the role played by the city in the struggle for independence and the concept of freedom, worldwide.

Messolonghi, the heroic Exodus and the tragic sacrifice of the Free Besieged offered a supreme example of voluntary Sacrifice on the altar of Greek, European and World Freedom and was an inspiration for creators from around the world (Byron, Goethe, Hugo, Delacroix De Lansac).
