Speech and Art Center "DIEXODOS" is one of the few houses that survived the destruction of Messolonghi, in which the elected military commander of the "local chariots" Athanasios Razikotsikas was born and lived and was killed at the Heroic Exodus. The building was purchased in 1998 by the lawyer Mr. Nikos Kordosis (from Messolonghi). He renovated it with absolute respect for all the preserved elements and handed it over to society with the creation of the speech and art center "DIEXODOS". By joint decision of the Ministers of Culture and Finance, it has been recognized and operates as a Public Benefit Private Cultural Organization of a Non-Profit Character, and has been awarded by the Academy of Athens for its "great public benefit, educational and cultural work". The main purpose of "DIEXODOS" is the operation of its Historical Museum while at the same time in its premises are held lectures, exhibitions (painting, sculpture, engraving, photography, video art, etc.), concerts and other musical events, seminars, presentations books, literary and literary gatherings, film screenings, scientific symposia and announcements, press conferences, demonstrations, educational programs, publications, corporate presentations, business conferences, product demonstrations as well as any other related events of speech, art and culture. The collections of "DIEXODOS" include thousands of objects, categorized in thematic sections that are exhibited in its Museum. The visitor will find historical relics concerning the Commander of the Guard Athanasios Raziκotsikas and the "Holy City" of Messolonghi . Original engravings and rare exhibits, such as the list of 1856 with the names of the people Messolonghi who fell during the Exodus and the corresponding one of 1926 with the names of the fallen Philhellenes. Religious relics, rare manuscripts, ancient objects, paintings, engravings and sculptures, rare editions, costumes. The Creation of the Center of Speech and Art "DIEXODOS" is a sign of respect for the history of the “Holy City” of Messolonghi. It is an oasis of culture that keeps the collective memory alive, a place where speech and art flourish, a hearth of culture for Messolonghi that gives to every visitor an emotion and a pride for the values and the ideals.
