It is a mansion that built in 1885. The mansion has a ground floor, two floors and is one of the most remarkable neoclassical buildings in the city, whose architectural details constitute an excellent overall, a monument of architectural art.

The beautiful and imposing building of "Chrysogelos" family is located in the central core of Messolonghi and is designated by the Ministry of Culture as a protected monument. It is of particular interest, as it is a sample of urban architecture in late 19th century of Messolonghi city. The mansion id distinguished for the balance of the elements, the symmetry, the stability, the grandeur, the monochrome clean surfaces with the linear decorations and the minimal embossed elements, the pillars with the painted capitals, the ones supported by ornate marble furs, and the cornices with the beautiful ceramic elements that surround the building.

However, the historical interest of this great edifice is similar. With the magnificence, the imposing and external elegance that distinguishes it, symbolizes the structure and dynamism of the society of Messolonghi, during the second half of the 19th century. The mansion belonged to one of the most famous and important families of the city, "Chrysogelos" family, from which great lawyers came, such as Maria N. Chrysogelos who was the first female lawyer "by Greek Supreme Court ".

The Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania bought it from the heirs of Georgios N. Chrysogelos and finally became the property of the Region of Western Greece which carried out the necessary studies for its maintenance and restoration. The restoration was done with modern methods, without altering its architectural elements, which remained as they were in its heyday and was completed in 2014.
