Folklore Museum of Aetoliko

Feeling indebted to the preservation of the national tradition, a group of members of the "Women's Association", launched in 1977 a campaign to collect material depicting the old life of Aetolia. The Folklore Museum was established in Aetoliko to give life to family and social life. With the establishment and operation of the Museum in 2002, an effort was made to save and display objects and costumes that are directly related to the life and tradition of the area.

The Museum is housed in a remarkable and spacious building located in a central location, at the entrance of the island, after the historic, stone, eastern bridges and among others are presented: Bedroom with woven bedding, household items with traditional fireplace, valuable handicrafts of the time , weighing tools, sewing machine, women's clothing of the 18th and 19th century, men's rigging, swords and photos of local heroes of the revolution, priestly vestments, loom, view of a traditional pellada , shuttle, the gold embroidered hat of Mrs. Vasiliki, the lapel of Bouboulina Laskarina, the authentic costume of Nikolaos Stournaras.
