The 13th Cultural Industry Workshop implemented by the Chamber of Aetoloakarnania in collaboration with the Music Association "Josef Rogon" in the framework of the project Creative@Hubs.

  11:00 Welcome from the manager of "Creative@hubs".

  11.15   Introduction to the seminar and presentation of the rapporteur Manos Achalinotopoulos by the musician Dimitris Manolatos.

Lecturer:  Manos Achalinotopoulos

Germanos (Manos) Achalinotopoulos is a professor at the University of Macedonia and one of the most acclaimed artists of the Greek and world music scene. He has a wealth of record material with personal albums and participations in records of leading Greek and foreign music creators. He has collaborated with D. Savvopoulos, G. Dalaras, H. Alexiou, M. Theodorakis, El. Arvanitaki, Chronis Aidonidis, Tasia Verra, A. Protopsalti, Ar. Moschos etc.

Similar creative collaborations are made abroad with people such as Goran Brecovic, Ara Dinkjian, Peter Kowalt, Ocay Temiz, Susheela Raman, Nana Mouskouri. He participated in performances all over the world in over 35 countries with the top participation in the great Jazz Festival of Montreux twice in 1999 and 2001, the Sphinx Festival of Belgium, Savvorama at the Athens, and Thessaloniki Concert Hall with Dionysis Savvopoulos, while he performed as a soloist with his clarinet, Mikis Theodorakis, collaborating with the London Symphony Orchestra in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Athens Olympic Games.

Alongside artistic activity, combining art with science, he has been involved from a very young age with the preservation, recording, cataloguing of our national musical heritage. He has also developed over the years a rich pedagogical and teaching activity in all levels of education, in conservatories and musical organizations.  In addition, he has been in close cooperation for the last three years with the Department of Art and Speech of the Department of Primary Education of the University of Athens and Professor Aristotelis Raptis, organizing Cultural Events with an educational, and not only, character.
