Another action of promotion and extroversion of the prefecture of Aetoloakarnania took place recently with the support and counseling of the Chamber of Aetoloakarnania and its collaborators in "Aetolian Philoxenia" and "creative @ hubs" programmes, during the shooting of documentaries the promotion and promotion of our region as a destination of Nature and Alternative tourism. The producer, screenwriter and director of short films and documentaries Andrea Rovetta, was accompanied for two weeks by the director of "creative @ hubs", Vassilis Artikos and the manager of "Aetolian Philoxenia" Yiorgos Apostolakos. The author was informed on the one hand about the inclusion of the wider area in the protection status of the Ramsar Convention as well as on the Natura 2000 network as a Special Conservation Zone and as a Site of Community Importance in which nature and productive activity coexist for thousands of years, and on the other hand, about the historical and cultural background of the Municipality of the Sacred City of Messolonghi, in order to take it into account in the design of the shooting in order to promote and highlight our area. The shooting took place in historical sites and museums as well as in places of special natural beauty, while the script is based on short personal stories of professionals of our place.
Andrea Rovetta was born in Brescia in 1971. He has directed five short films, most notably "L'amore e un giogo" in 2009, where he was nominated for Best Short Film. In addition, he has directed and written the screenplay for six documentaries, the last of which is titled "Gente di Sfakia" (2020) was screened by Rai 3 and received rave reviews. Finally, he has directed and written the script for 17 television productions from 2010 until today, which have been broadcast by Rai as well as  Italian and European Pay - TV networks.
