5th Cultural Industry Workshop (Creative@Hubs)

The 5th workshop of the cultural industry that was carried out in the framework of the “Creative @ Hubs” program was successfully held on Sunday, October 3, at 11:00 a.m. with the central theme of the promotion of cultural wealth of the region, which is a driving force for the development of the cultural industry of our place. The 5th workshop, entitled "The Cultural Industry in Aetolian Land", took place on the 2nd floor of the Chrysogelos building, in the premises of the "Creative @ Hub" program, which also hosts an exhibition in creative fields such as local tradition, photography, the painting etc. The workshop was opened by the Hub Manager of the program Mr. Vassilios Artikos who first welcomed the participants and then prefaced and introduced to the public the speaker Mrs. Chrysoula Spyreli (philologist-doctor of the University of Ioannina) and referred to the topic that the above speaker will analyze interactively. The first speaker referred extensively to the cultural identity of the Aetolian Land, looking back at the historical past as it is reflected in the remarkable ancient monuments of the wider area such as the ancient Pleuron etc. which testify to the high artistic and cultural level of the ancient inhabitants of our place. Special mention was made of the local writers who were distinguished for their writing talent and sensitivity as their experiences were strongly fermented with this place, which they praised through their works. An integral part of the speech was the reference to the glorious history of Messolonghi with the leading event of the Exodus. Finally, the reference to the festival of Ai Symios could not be omitted, which has a strong symbolic and religious character, is included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is closely connected with the history of the place and is held twice a year. Then the 2nd speaker Mr. Vassilios Artikos (Hub Manager of the Creative @ Hub program) who spoke and guided the public to the exhibition space while informing them about the operation of the program and the benefits which will give to the local economy and especially to cultural industry. Special mention was made by the exhibition sector of the cultural industry in the Aetolian land, of the materials and tools which used, of the various techniques born and developed by local artists and of the added value they have given to the final artistic result and the evolution of various artistic styles locally but and nationwide. A fruitful and constructive discussion with the attendees followed. At the end of the workshop, a buffet with cool drinks was offered outside the exhibition premises.

 The workshop was also broadcast with LIVE STREAMING through the page of the Chamber of Aetoloakarnania on Facebook.
