The 7 training seminars for the use & management of the digital platform "Aetolian Philoxenia", organized by the Chamber of Aetoloakarnania in the framework of the implementation of the operation "Aetolian Philoxenia - The House of Tourist of the Sacred City of Messolonghi" were implemented with great success.
The target groups of the seminar were public bodies, cultural bodies, tourism, catering, businesses, environmental bodies and content and services managers. Those interested had the opportunity from 24th to 29th September 2021, to attend the seminars either live, at the seminar hall space of the "Chrysogelos" building in Messolonghi, which houses "Aetolian Philoxenia", or via video conference.
Initially, the philosophy, the implementation strategy, the main targeting of the tourism development tool, the purpose, and the vision of "Aetolian Philoxenia" as well as the way in which this project through digital services will be able to promote and exploit the comparative advantages of the area were presented, which are the natural environment (lagoon, etc.), local agri-food products and gastronomy, the historical and cultural heritage and their connection with the entrepreneurship of the sectors of tourism, catering, alternative tourism and thematic outdoor and not only, activities. Digital services will enable target groups (visitors, agencies, businesses, travel agents) to be informed, to create, to manage digital content and to access it through various technological means such as PCs, tablets, PDAs, etc.) and smartphones.took place
Afterwards, an explanation and demonstration of the way in which the target groups will be able to register and use the specific platform, by the representative of the project contractor, took place while the Development Manager of "Aetolian Philoxenia" Yiorgos Apostolakos, made a short tour on the website of "Aetolian Philoxenia" created with the artistic, photographic look of the internationally famous photographer, Vassilios Artikos.
At the same time, reference was made to the information place that operates in the "Chrysogelos" building daily, in order to inform everyone about the use of the above digital services and visitors about the hidden treasures of this place giving them the opportunity to live authentic experiences.
The seminars ended with the presentation of the promotional video of the wider area of the enlarged Municipality of the Sacred City of Messolonghi and was followed by a discussion with the participants who showed particular interest in using the platform and in general for the project "Aetolian Philoxenia" and what it can offer.
